Travel
Guidelines

  • Respect Sacred Sites
Many root bridges and natural spaces are considered sacred by local communities. Please avoid loud behaviour, littering, or any actions that may disturb the sanctity of these places.
  • Tread Lightly
Stay on marked trails to prevent soil erosion and damage to fragile ecosystems. Avoid trampling plants or roots near the bridges.
  • Carry In, Carry Out
Take back all waste, including plastics, bottles, and food wrappers. Leave the trails and villages cleaner than you found them.
  • Dress with Sensitivity
Wear modest, comfortable clothing suitable for walking and respectful of local cultural norms.
  • Support Local Communities
Choose community-run home-stays, guides, and local products. Your participation directly supports village livelihoods.
  • Photography with Permission
Always ask before photographing people, ceremonies, or private spaces. Some places may restrict photography altogether.
  • Conserve Resources
Use water and electricity responsibly in home-stays and villages, where resources are limited.
  • No Harm to Nature
Do not carve on trees, pick plants, or damage living root bridges. These are living heritage structures that require care.
  • Travel Mindfully
Be patient, walk slowly, and immerse yourself in the journey. Heritage tourism here is about experience, not speed.
  • Follow Community Guidance
Local guides and village authorities know the landscape best. Respect their instructions and advice at all times.
