Bridging Ancestral Wisdom and Contemporary Science

EDUCATION & RESEARCH

Knowledge sharing is central to safeguarding the living root bridges. Syrwet U Barim serves as an active educational platform and research facilitator, linking indigenous custodians with universities, scientific institutions, and global conservation experts to study and document this living landscape.

01

Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK)

Research initiatives document the bio-engineering mechanics of Ficus elastica, micro-climate creation, structural load dynamics, and biodiversity within sacred forest groves.

02

Learning Exchanges & Workshops

We organize hands-on training sessions and intergenerational workshops where village elders teach youth the art of root guidance, scaffolding, and ecological management., musical performances, and artisan showcases bring villages together to celebrate shared heritage, fostering community pride and unity.

03

Academic & Policy Collaborations

Partnering with academic researchers, we generate baseline data and policy insights that strengthen community land rights, support climate adaptation strategies, and reinforce UNESCO World Heritage management frameworks.
